Surry Hills Festival 2016

On Saturday 24 September, our lovely neighbourhood will culminate in one fabulous celebration for the Surry Hills Festival. The day is set to be jam-packed with everything from delicious food by local eateries, a themed picnic, fresh produce, loads of entertainment, art and design installations, and many, many more events! Here are some of our picks of the day.

9am:
Dog Show @ Ward Park

If you're an early-ish riser, you're in for an AWESOME treat! Grab a coffee from our pals at Artificer and head to Ward Park for a parade of cuteness that will be the Dog Show in Ward Park. We'll definitely be staking out a front-row seat for this event.

From 11am-4pm:
Beer Tasting & Art
@ Yulli's

Feel like a tasty dose of Vitamin B (Beer!) and Vitamin A (Art!) for lunch? Well, we're pretty sold on the sounds of Yulli's specially made Gretchen Organic Kolsch, which is made with organic honey from the picturesque Blue Mountains. Also on show is a pop-up gallery featuring up-and-coming ceramicist, Grettel Corrie. And who could go past some of Yulli's tasty treats (our current fave dish is the Black Pepper Noodles)! Big wins all round.

Delicious CheeseForgmaggi Ocello
Yum! Who wouldn't love a gob-full of cheese? On offer are samples of the finest selection of Australian, French, Italian, Swiss, Dutch and British Farmhouse cheeses.

From 10am - 9pm:
Picnic & Tunes
@ Shannon Reserve
Our local go-to area for sunny good times (Shannon Reserve!) will be the venue for a delectable picnic and live music all day long.

3:30pm:
The Haunted Hoey @ Hopetoun Hotel, corner Bourke + Foveaux Streets
Swing by Surry's famous (and boarded up) live music venue for an intimate pop-up art performance written by Sophia Davids Gluyas and performed by Madeleine Jones and Graeme McRae

And since you'll be across the road after the performance, pop in and say hi to us at Somedays! We'll have some drinks, good vibes and in-store specials all day long! Keep an eye on our Facebook page or Instagram feed for full details.
