We have 10 x double passes to give away to a preview screening of one of the most fascinating and debated films of the year, The Square.
Written and directed by Ruben Östlund, and starring Claes Bang, Elisabeth Moss and Dominic West, The Square was so widely praised at Cannes that it was no surprise when it carried off the Palme d’Or.
The story is based around Christian, the curator of a contemporary art museum, who is intent on thinking of himself as a decent man—after all, he drives an electric car and supports good causes. His next show is “The Square”, an installation that invites passersby to act as though everyone truly had equal rights. But when his phone is stolen, Christian finds it difficult to live up to his ideals and all manner of strange events undermines the rarified atmosphere of the gallery. As The Guardian’s critic put it: "This movie really brings some gobsmackingly weird and outrageous spectacle, with moments of pure showstopping freakiness…it sets out to make your jaw drop. And it succeeds."
Ahead of the release in cinemas nationally on March 1st, Sharmill Films will be holding a preview screening on Tuesday, 20th February 2018 at Sydney's Palace Cinema, Norton Street.
